As a visual artist - it means I work with different materials simultaneously, as well combined. I'll use encaustic (beeswax +damar resin) medium, or use oil paint with cold wax medium - both on wooden panels. On a separate canvas, I layer acrylic and spray paints and add gel medium with reflective glass beads, strategically place in some paper, add metallic inks, and accents of gold leaf, glow-in-the-dark, or hologram paint. I love to explore with different materials and how they enhance or repel one another, along with the different layers, colors, and accents that can really make a piece special.
As a creative, visual art isn’t my only form of expression. While growing up, I played several instruments and would love to relearn some and pick up something new to play one day. Writing is form of expression and escape – whether it's something about grief and life - or straight-up comedy. Both music and writing feed into my visual art in many ways.
We all have too many stories not to write about them - at least for ourselves.
This represents a bit of what I do and who I am, as I continue to learn, make mistakes and share – and I hope it inspires others to do the same. I plan to capture some of this in a blog I intend to add to this website.
Please stay tuned and in the meantime, thank you for reading and for the support!
